Discussion in 'Channel Feedback' started by Guest, Feb 13, 2014.

  1. This is a Valentine's Day special. It is a dark and surreal drama called "Rose-Tinted" Please give it a watch and leave some feedback
  2. I just joined scalelab about a week ago and I've been trying to figure out how to use it.  That led me to look at every forum post on here to learn as much as possible.  In my search I found many of your videos and I'm getting pretty impressed!  Every video is getting better.  Keep it up, man!  It's looking great!

Here's a few suggestions.  Mostly technical cuz that's what I have most experience with.

Lighting:  I noticed lighting issues in most of your interiors on your videos.  Although the dark tones work in this particular video I would have liked maybe 2 or three stops more here and there, some backlight, and an eyelight is always nice.  For example, the breakup on the stairs and in the beginning when the guy is behind the screen door.

Framing (camera):  I'm stoked about your camera experimentation.  It's getting really good!  I thought most of the shots in this video were framed really well.

Production Design:  Bare walls bother me.  Consider hanging some decorations you find at thrift stores.

    Keep it up!

If you'd be so kind, please check out my channel.  I'd love feedback as well.

  3. Thank you for leaving such detailed feedback. First off thank you for all the kind things you said. Right now I have no lights at all so I've been trying to just work with natural light and the cieling lights. I'm hoping to get enough money soon to be able to get some lights, but it isn't very likely. The walls did actually have decorations on them but I took them off vefore we shot the scene because I thought it reflected the character a little better, but maybe that wasn't such a good idea.
I watched your channel trailer and it was very well put together. I can't say I'm too interested in the music videos, but I'll definitely check your shorts and climbing videos
